Frank L Torbert, Jr.

Frank L. Torbert, Jr. is President of Pittsburgh-based FLT Trading, Inc.  The company sells coal, natural gas, and other commodities for utilities, industrial concerns and the government.  Mr. Torbert has more than 25 years experience serving coal and other energy resource companies as a marketing and financial executive.

Prior to forming FLT Trading, Inc. he was the Director-Marketing for Pittsburgh-based Senstar Capital Corporation, a single investor leasing and team loan equipment financing firm serving coal mining and inland marine companies.  Mr. Torbert was responsible for Senstar’s marketing relationships with most of the major mining companies in the United States.

Before joining Senstar, Mr. Torbert was a Corporate Loan Officer for Mellon Bank’s Wholesale Banking Department.  He specialized in loans and other major financial commitments to customers and prospects in the bank’s Energy and Mining Section.

Mr. Torbert earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Duquesne University and a MBA. from The University of Pittsburgh.  His affiliations include the following: NAACP,  Board of Directors for NCME (treasurer) and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross, United States Department of Energy’s Natural Gas Minority Business Development Roundtable, AABE, Pittsburgh Regional Minority Purchasing Council, advisory board of Robert Morris University and is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
